Climbed up Lafayette on the Skookumchuck trail during yesterday's fine weather. Was going to ambitiously combine this with Garfield (a peak I've yet to do), but battling the 50 to 70 mph winds while summitting Lafayette took a little wind out of our sails (pardon the pun). So... we just did Lafayette. Many fabulous views and pictures to be had, though.

Andrew,

Excellent report and wonderful photos. Also a great format for the report. Wait till you see the superb views from Garfield.

Beautiful pictures. My hands are cold just thinking about you taking your gloves off so often to take all those pictures :) .

Well, your hands can feel a little bit warmer, because I actually kept my gloves on even while taking pictures. I guess my camera is big enough and with big enough buttons that I can operate it well even with fairly thick gloves on.

You all were hitting treeline just as I was hitting the trail to Cannon. Funny about the wind, I was remarking all day (to myself, I do that  ) that the breeze was very light, and thinking it would have been a great day to climb Lafayette or Washington.

What a difference 1100 feet make!

Great photos, thanks.
