2cd time is a charm;Redington 10 26 11.

[Red Oak]

After getting a early start I was driving up Caribou Valley road at 6;45 am ready for hours of road walking.I was positive I would be parking soon after getting off route 27 on to the C.V.R.My car soon almost bottomed out but I made it past a small trench.I parked at about approx. one mile before the a.t. intersection[right before the brown metal bridge].I pushed my sedan way to far,time to hike.Before I knew it I was at the main fork of the c.v.r. where you have to go right of left for Redington.The a.m.c. map works great .The dotted line[caribou pond road] right was easy to find as was the rest of the way up to the summit.I only went to far one time to lose about 2 min. of time!Within 3 hours I was on top of Redington. Rime ice lightly coated the small regrowth conifers as well as the Crockers.The Redington pond area is looking great with its slow growth back.Maybe a positive for select cutting?I found the canister and wrote my name down.Looking towards the Crockers the canister is on the right,in the trees.Before long I was back down at the mud pit for two more sweeps of the missing phone of my vfft brother.Success! I found it when I had lost all hope on the 3rd sweep,3rd time was a charm.I enjoyed a cold beverage on the drive out while I realized how stupid I was to push my car up the c.v.r. so far.Can not believe how far the other dude got his car up pass the "showstopper' trenchs[earl t.m.]Wow!
That night I hung out at the Stratton plaza bar and got to sit in with the Robin/Jeff band playing guitars and drums.Going up to this area is about the local scene also,got to support these people who really need our business.So 2cd time for Redington and third time for phone.Great day![sorry car]Shout out to my sponsor,thank you!
