Gorpburp and I hit the road from CT by 5:30 am then stopped for breakfast in Plymouth NH. took the drive through Holderness up into Wanalancet to the trail head for Dicey's Mill trail. Met the property owner, very pleasant lady. The fields were a pleasure to hike through. Easy hike, no rain. Stopped to search for the old mill but could not find it. Passaconaway was an easy hike. The great views are on Rollins. Ran into Arm and chatted a bit. We were up and over the tree peaks of Whiteface then down Blueberry ledges. Must say there are more ledges then blueberries. This is not the trail to descend if wet.
Next day we hit Garefiled trail. Nice easy trail...a bit non descript. The views on top were great. Chatted with an older gentleman. He said that this trip up Garefield will be his last. His voice had the hush of old age. I felt sad by his statement. He has had a long life of hiking but good things come to an end.
We are hiking Washington next Sunday 30Jul. All are welcome.
