Even though i was planning something easier to do since i hadn't hiked in a month and i am still nursing a broken finger I hooked up with a couple of friends one of which hadn't done this mountian and always wanted to. So the original plan was to head up Old Bridle Path to the Greenleaf Hut then take the Greenleaf Trail to the summit of Lafayette then take the Franconia Ridge Trail to Lincoln and Little Haystack followed by a descent on Falling Waters trail.
Started out good. I had been running since i got the cast off so i was strong the whole way. One of my friends had a tough time as we broke treeline but still did really well for not hiking for a really long time. We ended up just turning around once we summited Lafayette, but thats alright because it still was a gorgeous day. Temps in the 70's most of the way. Sun kept coming and going and was practically gone when we were within a mile of the summit. That wind up there made things a little bit on the cool side but was tolerable. There are also great overlooks about 2 hrs in that let you see whats to come.
Overall a great way to get back into things, can't wait for the next trip! Pics will be up later on tonight probably.
