With the nice change in the weather I decided to get out and enjoy. Left the house at 6:50 AM and drove to the Caps Ridge TH. At 8:15 walked up to the Cornice Trail, went left and meandered over to the summit of Adams. Arrived at 12:00 and had lunch. Left at 1:00 and poked along over to the summit of Jefferson. Wonder of wonders, there was no one there. Spent about half an hour enjoying the solitude and then wandered down to the "caps" parking lot.
Since I had finished my water on Jefferson I took the Link trail over to where the stream crosses and refilled my water bottles. That has got to be about the coldest water source in the Whites that I have ever found. It's about a mile in on that really nasty Link trail, but I have always enjoyed the side trip.
Got back to the car at 5:55, very tired, but feeling much younger than my 65 years.
Cheers
