Met Dean G at Boiceville IGA sunday after the three sausageteers left Biscuit Brook. On my way east of Big Indian, ran into a pretty serious accident, looked like white SUV off the road and the entire road closed, had to make a u-turn back to CR47 which I took north to CR42 south back to Rt 28.. Thought I might see Mudhook but nope, just another firetruck blocking the road.

Anyway, I get to the IGA and cell service, I get Dean's text msg and glad I didn't have to text him, cause I have never texted before and don't plan on starting now. :) So off we went to spot my car at CR40 and then drive over to Willow. The drive over was a plethora of weather patterns, from clear to fog and overcast by Big Indian, it was like a day of a misty mountain hop. So up we went from Willow following an old woods trail that had a few ferns and drainages popping up. It got so hot, I was down to shorts and short sleeves as we rose above the clouds... Tobias, Olderback, Carl, Ashoken HP, all were islands in the clouds.. The entire Hudson Valley was blanketed by a soft cotton layer! Getting up to the Long Path, we stop for a break and head south towards the firetower, over and up a few PUDs along the way... At the tower, we climbed the very still air, warm, calm, and the clouds still lingering in the still air. Some firetower photos later, we descend and eat lunch that I didn't eat yesterday.. mmmm PBJ!

Our descent down to 40 was fast, and a little wet with the water from saturday but still being very warm, we make our way back to the car and a short drive to Willow..
