(Longer, similar trip report from last year: http://www.vftt.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10322 )

I'll make this brief, since I'm having network problems:

We spent 3 days at Laurie's family's hunting camp. Laurie, her brother, and her son all shot a deer.

We did some minor peakpagging, climbing Hiram's Knob while tracking a bear, and we climbed most of the way up to Haynes while out and about.

The woods were beautiful. Lots of animals, tracks, and views to be had. A little snow fell while we were there, and it was overcast most of the time. I wore orange and red and pretty much brought my usual gear.

A great way to spend a weekend! :D

Thanks for sharing, tell Laurie I'm impressed !

I think all hikers should go hunting from time to time and take a camera instead of a gun or bow if they want. It really gives you a different perspective of the woods.

I agree. Or just go into the woods not to geta peak or hit a mile mark, but to see what you can see. Stop and smell the purple trilliums ;)

What, no turkeys? :p
So you guys having vennison for Thanksgiving? :)

And to quote a great hunter:
"We say that a man who do not hunt in Kazakhstan has a... how you say... no balls" :D

If it's anything like NY, you can't hunt for turkeys around Thanksgiving. Go figure.
