Mt. Adams via Lowe’s path and Airline back. I took the day off and hiked to Adams with a group of Scouts who were staying at Madison Hut. Lowes path is in great shape, not difficult but steady and not wet at all: a good route for novice hikers. Airline is harder with some steep sections which are wet and slippery with the recent showers although the exposed top is in great shape and well worth the efforts further down the trail. Weather was great! Saw some interesting animals including several migrating monarchs on top of Adams, 3 Broad winged hawks soaring, an unidentified gray cheeked type thrush, 3 Juncos seen and more heard (assume they nest here?), and Hermit and Wood thrushes.
