I can't find it in any flower books I have. I've never seen it before, or since. This was taken on shore of a marshy area in Paul Smiths.
 
ooh! If the plant's leaves are those sawtooth-edged things, almost certainly a cinquefoil & looks like maybe marsh cinquefoil (Potentilla palustris) which is one of the few I haven't seen yet in my travels.

If those leaves & flowers don't belong to the same plant, it could be marsh St. John's wort (Triadenum virginicum) but it looks like there are too many stamens in your photo.

edit: p.s. the rounded three-leafed things on the lower left look maybe like buckbean (Menyanthes trifoliata)
