Good morning.
From the research I've done it looks like groups of 10 or more require a permit to camp in the Adk backcountry.
I am planning a trip for a group of 8 later this summer - 4 are headed up Haystack/Basin/Saddleback and the other 4 are up Gothics/Armstrong/Wolf Jaws.
We'd like to camp together somewhere between JBL and Slant Rock and from what I have seen we should be ok in terms of not requiring any special permission.
I've camped all over the high peaks area but never with more than a few people and just wanted to make sure that I am correct in assuming that we will be following the group regulations properly.
Thanks.
Mike
