Set out at the loj trailhead at about 9:45 with Algonquin and Iroquois in mind. Made great time to the junction with the Wright trail and bundled up for the final ascent up Algonquin. We had heard that above treeline the wind was 40-50mph. We got to the treeline and were not disappointed by the wind. We summited on Algonquin with crystal blue skies and views in all directions. The wind had settled a little bit so we decided to start over to Iroquois. Just as we started over to Iroquois the wind shifted and my wife and I decided that Iroquois would have to wait for another day. All in all the views and temps below treeline made this a wonderful day in the woods.
