Trail Conditions: Hard pack with light powder coating until trail junction between Marcy and Allen. The progressively deeper snow until summit, with maximum reaching around 6-8 inches of snow. Trail has been packed down, however, by at least 15 people, however, so there should be a clear trail. That being said, it did snow all day today so there might be another 6-12 inches of powder on the trail again. Opalescent River is completely and solidly frozen over.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes essential, though some people did use crampons after others had packed trail down head of them. Crampons not necessary, but maybe a little helpful on the slide.
Comments: See trip report for further details.
