Two previous groups had done fantastic work breaking the trail in deep snow and navigating the woods to a point beyond Skylight Brook, but no one had reached Allen Brook. Kerry, Jeremy, and I had the privilege of breaking the trail up the steep Allen Brook slide to the summit. Near the top there was a thin crust of ice in a mid-layer, but plenty of snow above and below it. All snowshoes. Be careful descending. It would be a long walk out with a broken tailbone
