Hudson and Opalescent Rivers very easy to cross. Water no more than knee-deep. Water shoes recommended. Plenty of mud on this hike, so you may want gaiters. I probably should have put mine on, as I did step in over my boot-tops several times. Blowdown not bad, everything pretty easily managed. Skylight brook can be rocked-hopped with caution. Allen Brook and the slide are slippery in spots, but not too difficult to get around the red slime. Bugs were pretty bad: mosquitos in the early morning and at the end of the hike. No black flies to speak of, but nasty biting flies of other varieties became quite annoying for the middle section of the return.
