The hike up Ampersand on a beautiful sunny day was great! The trail was free of blowdown and easy till you pass the old remains of the fire observers cabin then the trail gets steep and very rocky. Good thing for the trail crews doing a good job fixing the trail.
The views from the summit are OUTSTANDING!!!! There once was a firetower on the summit but you don't need one for the 360 degree views! I met one person heading down when I got there and then I had the summit to my self for almost 2 hrs! It was time to go when a group of 16 showed up.
What an AWESOME hike Ampersand is!!
