No my foliccally challenged head wasn't attacked by Deerflies. We're talking Bald Mtn you may have missed or overlooked this one on the back side of Artist's Bluff (Franconia Notch)@ 2340'. It was my first hike with my grandkids 3 & 6. God I'm glad I had 2 boys. A weekend with my granddaughter (the 3) only reenforces that. If you have 3 year sons keep them away from this one, she going the to wear them out. I walked behind her trying to figure out how she was going to make an easy hike hard. She climbed up, on, over, every rock on, and off the tail, and DON"T even think about giving her a hand. "I CAN DO IT GRANPA!" and she did. Even the top where it's all rock, she headed straight UP, and DOWN! All I could do was to position myself below her to catch her if she did fall.
She spent the entire hike tying to keep up with her brother who uses a bit more caution then she does.
After Bald Mt. we rode them up the tram on Cannonand walked them around the top. We took the bino's so they could look at all the hikers on the "Ridge" accross the street.
The day before we ran them thorough the "Polar Caves" but got rain out of "Lost River" today.
A GREAT weekend. Now it nap time!!!!
