Spent night at Grey Knob cabin on west side of Adams, on trail at 0600 Valentines Day bound for Lakes and down, or Sphinx Trail. Repulsed by horrendous weather, blowing maybe 70 at Edmonds Col, and plenty cold (zero on Washington summit). Difficulties in route finding, esp. crossing a big snowfield below Jefferson in very poor visibility. Couldn't locate the trail on the otherside of the snowfield so had to return to Randolph Path into the wind, very brutal. Intense experience, sure beats the office!
