First time on this trail ... hiked west to east. The trail to Table Mtn. is in great shape and views were excellent. Was expecting poor trail conditions past Table Mtn, but the trail was in fine shape. Eventually I came to realize that some serious trail maintenance had been done recently, with many blowdowns removed and a great deal of brush cleared. Huge relief and much joy until around the 3.5 mile mark when the trail reverted to the conditions described in the WMG. The dense brush that obscures the trail was especially noxious because of endless spider webs and dropping needles that seemed to end up down my back or in my socks. Once on Big Attitash summit (no view or marker), the trail is clear of brush although it is a grinding sidehill descent with many awkward blowdowns. There is one boggy section west of Big Attitash summit where the trail just seems to disappear, with no arrows or other guidance. Use your spider sense ... it should lead you left for about 50 feet to a point where the trail magically reappears.
