Parked at the Depot which is snow covered but packed. Room for many.
Stream crossing was frozen.
Blowdown on Avalon which is easy to avoid. Blowdowns on Willey Range Trail between Field and Willey will be more problematic with snow.
Two dogs, both seemed to be happy. Cool coat on one (short hair) which was insulated and had insulated zip off legs (which were on today)
Snow right from the Depot. All was packed. We barefooted to the junction with A-Z and then put on Microspikes which we, and most others were wearing, for the rest of the day. There is ice on the Avalon Trail after the stream crossing and it was avoidable but could get worse. Rocks were mostly covered on all trails today (yeah). With another 6 inches or so they will be gone. Winds never really materialized. Views were great all day. Definitely winter in the Whites. Met Scott and enjoyed hiking with him. Saw more people than I thought we would. Nice seeing Summerset and meeting Ethan. Great day out.
