Avalon trail dry until the last 1/4 mile to Willey, then some snow starts. Most easily avoided, only a few steps needed on snow, but was still firm enough to support me. Only one blowdown, easy to get over.
Willey Range: Some snow left on the north side of each hump on the ridge. Some walking on it required for several hundred yards, though still firm enough to support me.
Ethan Pond: Clear and dry. A couple of blowdons on the whole length, easy to maneuver around.
A-Z: The west end is quite wet. One blowdown needed to be tracked around, but the woods are open so it is easily avoided. East of the snowmobile trails it needs to be brushed back, and there is still some snow here, but once the climb to willey range starts, it is clear and dry.
special equipment: none.
Comments: Fantastic weekend in the mountains, good mix of rain, clouds, sun, and views! Ethan pond campsite was packed!
