Ellen and I climbed South and North Baldface from 113 on Saturday 5/28. We took Baldface Circle trail to the shelter and up the South slabs to the South peak. Then across the ridge to the North peak and down Bucknell.
All trails were amazingly dry. The slabs were fine with only slight trickles here and there. Ran into the USFS Ranger cleaning up the shelter and tent platforms for the first time this year. Some snow and mud in the many cols between peaks, but nothing requiring any special gear. I wore shorts without gators and stayed plenty dry.
Both major brook crossings on Bicknell were fine and easily crossed staying dry. And all troublesome blowdowns have been cleared.
A great day with great views in all directions. Highly recommended 9 to 9.5 mile hike.
