While hiking the Belknap area this spring, I noticed an abundance of blueberry bushes. The question for anyone who has been there recently is, are the berries ready for picking?

Haven't been to Belknap Range, but across the state the blueberries are in abundance. The crop is expected to be the best in years, around 85 million lbs.

Saturday, I was enjoying very plump and tasty blueberries, as well as mountain cranberries, on the ridge between Bondcliff and Mt. Bond.

Happy Trails :)

We did a quick hike up Piper (part of the Belknaps) last week after work and it looked like the blueberries are past peak. There are still some there but not in the abundance that we've seen them in the past when our timing was better.

blueberry update

Today, the blueberries around Zealand Falls, Zeacliff and The Twinway were past peak, but there are still plenty of plumpy ripe berries and many are still green.

Happy Trails :)
