We spotted cars at the Mt. Major lot and drove to the Gunstock parking area. Up Mt. Rowe by the dirt road then across the Range and down the Boulder Trail from Mt. Major. Lots of snow on the ski trail portion of the trail ascending Gunstock and some minor stretches of snow ascending Belknap. Otherwise, trails were in great shape with only a couple of blowdowns and some mud, not too bad. Some care needed in following trails at times.
No special equipment required. Shorts, sunblock, camera recommended.
Stunning scenery on the ridge and in the open woods. Cloudless, warm and breezy. Mayflowers were abundant on the high ridge areas. About 12 miles the way we did it, highly recommended before the leaves/bugs are out. A fine day with good friends.
