Big Slide via The Brothers August 20, 2010

The Garden parking lot had only 3 spaces available at 7:30 AM this morning, a Friday. With only a 45 car capacity getting a spot there is not a guarantee during the summer. The trail over the Brothers is very dry and dusty. There has been little rain this summer. The stretch from the Third Brother to the Big Slide summit junction is quite dry. That particular stretch of trail is usually muddy and wet, but not at present. The final .29 mile stretch has a new ladder that is sturdy and very well crafted. No bug spray was used or needed.
VFFT today were exceptional due to a very clear sky.
