On friday September 1st I hike the Bigelow (Avery, west Peak,South Horn,
North Horn). Incredible view from Avery and West Peak. I see the Kathadin
from the summit of Avery.
Saturday september 2: A big day, South Crocker-crocker-South Crocker-
reddington-Spalding-Abraham-Spalding. Start at 6:00 am and sleep in my
bivy near Sugarloaf. My first bushwack since the Seward in March. Very long
bushwack from S.Crocker to Reddington and to Spalding, on the two Mtn I
arrived at the summit the first attemp. On Spalding after 4 hours of bushwack
from the summit of Reddington I arrived at the Intersection of the Appalachian
and the trail for the summit of Spalding.
Sunday: Sugarloaf-Saddleback-Horn-Saddleback. Start at 5:30 am near
the junction of Appalachian trail and Sugarloaf trail. Very cold and windy at
the summit of Sugarloaf, no view. I hike down Sugarloaf to my Van at CVR.
Drive to road 4 and the rain start. I decided to hike Saddleback-Horn in the
rain. Long hike until over tree line, near the summit I used my winter clothes
(hat, mit, fleece vest, goretex coat) and I was OK. Very windy, foggy and I
had just enough view to the summit . I continued to the Horn and it was
cold and windy, I reach the summit of Horn at 2:00 pm. I returned fast to
Saddleback and no stop at the summit. Finish at 6:00 pm.
10 more 4000 footers done and 15 summits on 3 days. I now had 84 peaks
on the NE 115.
