Author to speak at Pomfret School at end of January
POMFRET — Author Bill Bryson is Pomfret School’s 2006-07 Schwartz Visiting Fellow. He will speak on “Why We Should All Appreciate America’s Wilderness” at 8 p.m. Jan. 21 in the Hard Auditorium.
The author of more than a dozen books, Bryson is considered a humorist and a general expert on language. His memoir about growing up in Des Moines, Iowa, titled “The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid,” was released in October.
The talk is free and open to the public. A reception and book signing will take place afterward.
