Fire Tower 5 miles RT
With some of our conditioning beginning to return, we decided to begin a final push to finish the Adirondack Park fire towers. We have 13 done and want to do all 23 of them, even though that is not required for the challenge. The temperature reached a high of 56 all day and it was considerably cooler on the summit. The views were outstanding and mostly clear, but we did experience a bank of dense clouds moving through for about 15 minutes that caused us to crawl into more layers of clothes. The fall colors under the eventually sunny skies were astounding! We spent a lot of time on the top, exploring and looking for other views and after a big lunch, started down. The trail had some wet spots which we had to navigate.
