We ascended the Mt. Shaw Trail and took the usual carriage roads/trails down to Turtleback and Bald Knob, finally descending the Bald Knob Trail.
Very little snow below 2400' but stretches of deep snow, thankfully firm today, on the carriage roads up high. Minor ice and snow on the Turtleback Mt. Trail with mud in spots at the lower elevations.

We bare booted all day with no problems.

Gorgeous day with light winds and ample sunshine. Wonderful views to the Whites, the Presidentials and Franconia Ridge glowing with their snow cover. Hepatica dotted the landscape on the Bald Knob Trail descent.
Met and hiked for a bit with neighbor, Bob, a pleasure to meet you.
