Parked at end of Big Hollow Rd. Last few hundred feet of road to parking area unplowed. 4WD or park before unplowed section.

Black Dome trail (red) ranged from scattered snow and ice to consistent packed snow and ice. Crampons would have been impractical. Used Microspikes beginning at about 3300 feet. Continued to encounter bare rocks and soil especially on final climb to Blackhead summit. Some spots quite icy, often covered by light snow. Began descent via Escarpment trail (blue), however, much too much ice, and, combined with steepness decided to return to summit and reversed route to parking area. Escarpment trail would have been possible with crampons, however, a rope would have made the steep sections safer.

Overall, beautiful day with temps around 30.
