Date of Hike: Sunday, April 28th
Trail: Lincoln Woods, Bondcliff, West Bond Spur
Trail Conditions: Lincoln woods is the usual. Bondcliff Trail from wilderness boundary to Camp 16 Clearing (previous beginning of the Bondcliff Trail) is in great shape, it's a lot more brushed back than it has ever been. There is one blowdown that you go under. The trail is mostly dry with some mud spots here and there. The small drainage step over's are all plugged with branches that were placed there awhile back, I assume for the removal of the remaining Black Brook Bridge parts. Don't know if they'll go back in there and clear those up before it starts getting plugged up. Bondcliff Trail water crossings are rock hop-able. The snow starts to build up fast past second crossing, still a few feet of it in the woods, it's getting choppy and unstable so one misstep to the side and you're punching through. The exposed parts of the ridge are clear of snow and ice. Still lots of snow between Bond and West Bond.
Special Equipment: Wore microspikes but can be bare-booted too. Snowshoes are most likely and overkill, there's enough snow but as the monorail forms it'll be just be too narrow, plus the snow is choppy.
Comments: The Bonds were phenomenal as always! Pictures
