Trail to Bondcliff on way in crusty ice. Microspikes perfect for steeper sections and thereafter. Some duckunders, stepovers and steparounds but none a problem. No stream crossing problems. Only pain was the spruce-fir branches before each peak trying to steal my snowshoes from my pack, and perhaps some strong wind gusts on the Bondcliff ridge. Trail from Bond to West Bond was churned up snow and snowshoes may have been better for it. On return hike the crusty ice had turned into churned snow, soft on top if in the sun, all the way. There were quite a few hikers on the peaks today, a glorious day to be out. The mighty tough little dog got to meet some other intrepid canines including Expresso who carried his own packs. I got my last winter 4K today; thanks to the trail maintainers, the winter hikers who pack the trails, this website for providing a place to report trail conditions, and the doctors who gave me back my life. Gluten free or die!
