Stunning!!!
Kancamagus Pass was almost in the clouds at 7:00a.m.
Biked in to the wilderness boundary. Hiked at a moderate pace because I didn't want to get to treeline before the clouds lifted. No problems on Wilderness Trail or Bondcliff Trail.
Made treeline around 11:30? The sky was perfect, a lot of blue and a nice westerly breeze. Franconia Ridge was just about to break free of clouds.
Had a beautiful hike over to Mt Bond. Lots of mountain daisys, and a few starflowers in the trees between peaks.
The spur trail to West Bond is lush and beautiful. A big, healthy snowshoe hare hopped across the trail about six feet in front of me. Then I almost stepped on a baby bird, but a squawking mom caught my attention just in time.
Made it to West Bond for the first time This was just a stunningly beautiful hike
