Trail: Bridalveil Falls from Coppermine Road trailhead.
Special Equipment: Snowshoes, and I was glad I had attached the powder tails.
Three blowdowns, two easily stepped over and one easily walked under.
Comment: Someone had hiked up the trail about 200 yards, then the tracks veered off toward a house. After that I broke trail all the way to the falls, which surprised me given the popularity of this trail and it being a holiday week and all. But no one had been up to the shelter and falls since Sunday's big snow-dump.
A quiet and beautiful trek for Christmas Eve Eve up to the frozen falls, which right now is a spectacular rampart of ice -- a frozen castle hued in blues, oranges and whites. I didn't see another soul the whole five-mile up-and-back, but I did see quite a few deer tracks and I flushed one grouse.
