FYI from WMUR Channel 9 News:

"BRETTON WOODS, N.H. -- Bretton Woods Resort, including the Mount Washington Hotel, is being sold, the resort announced Friday.

The hotel, other lodging properties and the ski area are being bought by CNL Income Properties of Orlando, Fla., for $45 million. The golf course and other land is being purchased by Celebration Associates.

The Cog Railway has not been sold.

Mount Washington Hotel spokeswoman Martha Wilson said that Celebration Resorts will operate the entire hotel and ski resort on CNL's behalf."

:/

Makes me nervous -- not so much for the immediate area (I believe there's not much undeveloped land right at Bretton Woods, condos are already there, & WMNF owns a lot of the surrounding area) but rather if they decide to get into the development business further up in Twin Mtn (which seems fairly free of invasive species, er, I mean large opportunistic developers).

indeed. lets hope they don't change anything big. its all commercialized enough as it is. personally i'd be a fan of supporting them taking the Cog down. i hate that thing especially when you hike over the rails and see in that area what it leaves behind each trip up and down.
