trail conditions: starting out from the fish hatchery is great, with plowed parking and proper trail signs.the york pond trail is well consolidated as I bare booted it with my girlfriend then cross country skiers hit it.then the bunnel notch trail wich was still unconsolidated, is a little more packed now with our two way traffic with bare boots and spikes.snow bridges are softer now with this warm weather so I advise stepping over them
so you won't fall through whats left of them.kilkenny ridge trail is packed well now and is easy to follow until you can see the cabin,(open for overnight use, wood stove removed)
wind swept area hides the trail until you get behind the cabin tracked and packed to the true summit, theres one spot where I punched threw a couple of steps in a row, soft spot.
special equiptment: full winter gear is always needed in winter. also optionally usefull:
micro spikes were perfect for traction but snowshoes would work . poles are usefull in
any season.
comments: If you can pass the cabin on the way up and stop on the way back so you don't ccol down too soon. and remember anything wet will freeze if you take it off for too
