Mt. Cabot Trail above the logging road was very wet and muddy, often with flowing water over mud, a poster child for bad management practices. Waterproof boots and gaiters a must, and care needed to avoid damaging trail. I would not recommend using this trail until it dries out and even then it would still need care to avoid damaging it more. A blowdown and a couple of bendovers; no problems. Stream crossing no problem due to log bridge. No signs at trailhead or on the trail. Some blazes remain and it was easy to follow, but after leafout....?
Kilkenny Ridge trail from jct. was wet and after some alternating ice/snow and bare stretches, it was a narrow crusty monorail to the cabin. I used snowshoes as did the two others I met on this section, but while two of us mostly stayed on top of it, the third often used the side off the rail and it generally held. Above the cabin the monorail was wider and less distinctive and sometimes there were multiple paths, but it held up under snowshoes. The mighty tough little dog pawpoled up there when he got off the trail. One blowdown which I sawed and removed.
On descent I met two barebooters going up. Some postholing from them but not bad on the monorail they had done. Up on top I would expect them to posthole, but I could be wrong.
