Cabot on the 18th one to two feet of snow the whole way up. We tried to use the Bunnell Notch Tr. found it and lost it at lest six times. Never found the cabin or the sign at the top but we where in the neighborhood. We were in the company of at least one moose all the way up. Snowed all day and used snowshoes all day as well. Could not have done it with out snowshoes. Great day in the Whites as always.
Camped that night off rt. #2.
Waumbek the 19th, thanks to the people who snowshoed the Starr King Tr. on the 18th. We used snowshoes because we had them and there was a couple inches of fresh snow on the trail from night before. One of the best marked trails I've ever hiked. Sun started to come out in the early afternoon. Beautiful day in the Whites. The Randolph Mountain Club gets a shout out for their maintenance of the trail, great job.
These two mountains are two of the easier hikes of the four thousand footers. Could be good to get people you know into winter hiking.
