Was there any sign of the dead moose just south of The Bulge that I saw 2 weeks ago? You couldn't miss it, it was right on the trail.

If not, the coyotes (or the Forest Service) do a pretty thorough job.

That's a great traverse. I'm surprised more people don't use those trails. Good trip report.

We remembered your post about the dead moose and kept an eye out for it, but alas, no sign of it.

I agree, it's a great hike that probably gets overlooked by many. We really enjoyed it.

Glad to see it cleared up for you guys on Sunday. Just after I left you two at Unknown Pond the sky opened up, but I was having fun doing a speedy 3 mile decent to my car. The trail was so wet and I sank in a couple of deep mud holes, so when it came time to do stream crossings I just walked on through. The puppies had such a great time and I didn't hear a peep from them the whole ride home. :)

Thanks Artex for mentioning my strong point on the ledge!

Abster, thats becoming a bit of a habit, huh

Abster - you missed a nice hike on Sunday, but I'm glad you and the pups had a good time on Saturday and got back safe and sound. :)

Artex - we probably walked by the moose carcass and didn't notice it. At that time, it was raining pretty hard and all I was thinking about was getting up the mountain and into the cabin for a bit. Besides that, my tongue was dragging on the ground trying to keep up with Artex.

Great trail though, despite the wet weather on Saturday. It was a nice change of pace from the "typical" White Mt hikes we do. With all the ups and downs and Moose scat on the trail, we could rename it the "Moose Poop Roller Coaster of Death Trail." ;)

Abster is queen of the dowhills, no question about it. Now those ledges.... that's another story (I kid! I kid! :D :D :D )

Thanks for the heads up on the dead moose, Double Bow. Like Pennsy said, I guess we just missed it entirely. :(
