Camping Around the Carters

Hi everyone !
Me and my friend are planning a dayhike around the Carter Range.
My question is the following.Can we camp near the Dolly Copp Parking lot or do we have to camp inside the campgroud itself?

You may not camp near the campground but not in it. Rules:

You can camp at Barnes Field, which is on the right just beyond Dolly Copp. There are about a dozen sites that have plowed parking spaces, picnic tables and fire pits. There are also a few outhouses.

Camping near the Carters

We did camp at Barnes Field,it was fine being near the Nineteen Mile Brook Trailhead.

We had a wonderfull hike on the Carters.
