Trail: Kinsman Ridge
Condition: Wet! Due to recent rains there's lots of water where you don't usually find it on the route, including new streams tumbling down most of the long rocky section that's about mid-way up .
Special equipment: Poles or walking staff very useful on the way down.
Comment: There are great lakes of standing water along the flat section between the viewpoint at 3,900 feet and the tourist trail that comes up from the tramhouse -- indeed, too much water for me to be enthused about making the final haul up to the Cannon summit, which was hidden in the fog anyway. Saw some ice-pellet flurries, felt some wind, but in general the weather was cooperative if November-ish. Met a total four people and one dog.
This route is likely to be dangerously icy this week as the temperature drops.
