I just wanted to let u know that the second pic you posted isn't the Tripyramids but Mt Carrigain. Looks like you took it from the Twinway near the Zeacliff outlook. Its a fantastic hike, with some of the best views in the Whites. I hiked it last Monday and even though it was foggy 80 percent of the time, the clouds opened up just in time to reveal some awesome views. Check it out sometime! BTW it looks like u had an awesome hike...I've always wanted to visit Nova Scotia....sigh...

Oh hey, Grouseking, thanks!!!! I wasn't sure which that was, being a newbie to the Whites! It was taken from the Zeacliff Trail, actually. One hell of an uphill, that Zeacliff Trail, especially with a full pack! I had to hoist my pack and my dog up over that big rock outcrop near the top!

Fred!!!!! I've been venting already! Still trying to plow through all the venting I missed!

There is a lot there! Maybe you should just touch on the bare essentials!

I am utterly impressed that you took the Zeacliff Trail with a big pack!! I've never hiked it but hear its one the steepest around!

Heh heh. Yup, it was a steeper'. I love steep uphills but don't like steep downhills, and I'm really not fond of rockclimbing at ALL! I was a little shaky clambering over that rock overhang but lived to tell. Well, when i was a research asst I used to lug a CAR BATTERY and a fifteen pound nitrous oxide analyzer through the Catskills and some other forests (for pay, of course, I may be a mule but I'm no fool!)
