Conditions: In and out of clouds, mild, pleasant temp. Only bugs were concentrated at crowded spots with lots of tasty humans. One stream crossing I had to wade, and some extra muddy spots, on Boundary Line trail. Link trail is very slow-going.
Comments: This was a loop of 3700 vertical, 11.6 miles. Started on Jeff. Notch Rd. at Boundary Line trail, road-walked up to Caps Ridge. Across on the Link to the Castle trail, up to the summit of Jefferson, over to Jewell, down to Boundary Line, back to car. A very interesting hike with a lot of contrasts.
