trails: sawyer river rd., signal ridge trail
conditions: road snowmobile packed. signal ridge had a decent snowshoe track to start, but it ended at the beginning of the long slab up the ridge where it was generally 12"+ to the summit. is now broken all the way to the summit and has seen one other set of tracks to the summit and some others down lower. take note that i lost the trail just below the last climb towards the summit and wandered a bit. i tried to block the wrong way off with a stick on the way down, but if after this storm two tracks are present take the one to the right. much more pleasant. snowbridges still intact.
equipment: snowshoes. wind gear for open section of ridge.
comments: a nice day. tough trailbreaking up high. got some views across carrigain notch and some to the southern peaks. sounds like more snow to come.
