Road packed out hard by snowmobilers and gate open, but not passable for normal vehicles (we passed a Jeep stuck in the snow). Trail packed out hard all the way; less than an inch of powder on top of that starting at ~3500'. Exposed section of Signal Ridge has some thin ice. No truly nasty blowdowns but summer's "overhanging" branches are now trail-level brush.

Water levels low. Whitewall brook easy crossing on snow/ice bridge; Carrigain brook easy rock-hop (although low enough that fording is probably possible).

Traction of some form is necessary on the steep sections; we used snowshoes but crampons may have been better.
