Carter Dome - attempt III. 2-24-07

Howdy!

Looking to tag the elusive Carter Dome on Saturday (Feb 24).

Trail reports suggest that 19-mile and Carter Dome trails are broken at least to Zeta pass, but we may get a few inches of fresh stuff in the next few days.

On the off-chance that trails are in good condition, I may also attempt Wildcat A from the hut before heading down (leaving N. Twin for my 48th NH4K).

While we hike at a leisurely pace, I have no objection to faster hikers packing out trail ahead of us.

19 Mile is a bob sled run, no worries there. Carter Dome trail was broken but I don't know for how far. I think you're better bet might be Carter-Moriah Trail. Wildcat Ridge Trail was unbroken and deep, but someone may get through there before you.

I'm flexible on start time, but would prefer starting on the early side.

I'm thinking 8:00am meet at 19-mile brook trailhead. Could go a half hour in either direction if it makes things easier for everyone.
