date of hike;01-27-10.
tr. conditions;19 mile brook tr.-trail was bad with past polehole disasters all over the place, spots were muddy!parts were running stream.tr. packed otherwise.
carter dome tr.-first part was nasty,it slowly got better, middle was packed down.
carter moriah tr.-little fresh powder, lots of drifts.trails need snow bad to fix em.
spec. equipment;used crampons most of the day, seemed like micros would have been better. treking poles.snowshoes not needed today.
comments;planned on just doing south cart. new to carters and 10 feet into heading to south cart. I could not find the trail and with enough time I switched plans and bagged cart. dome instead.4 hrs up/2 hrs down.felt overdressed at start of hike, sweated through 4 hats today, nice chatting with grayjay and college kids coming back from chill night at hut.wind was a non factor today.still I did not linger at top.
