Trail Conditions: wet and muddy, especially after a downpour during the ascent. Mucho mud between Cascade/Porter col and Porter.
Special Equipment Required: rain jacket or wind layer advisable. Very windy and cool on Cascade summit. Thankfully the wet Cascade summit rocks were not too slick.
Comments: Was in the area for a wedding and wanted to get my first ADK 4000 footers. Was planning to do a very big hike, but tore up my knee in May. Decided to try this somewhat easy hike as a test of my knee's rehabilitation. I am happy to report that the knee feels fine the day after so onward and upward to bigger hikes this summer.
No views on this day, but it was a good hike nonetheless. It was also fun to play in the legendary ADK mud.
