Trail into Cascade was all hardpack, some ice in areas, but easily managable. Crampons or Microspikes towards the top were useful, but snowshoes were a waste of effort, not needed. Even the pass to porter was packed in enough to support weight without snowshoes. Made much better time once I switched to crampons. The Summit of both mountains were covered in rime and completely socked in with no views. Wind was brutal. Despite the lack of views and winds, still a very worthwhile day in the mountains.
