Special equipment: Snowshoes probably still helpful above Champney Falls loop trail, but could be bare booted.
Conditions: Trail very well packed up to the falls. Above that, with maybe 6-8" of new snow, I switched to snowshoes. Could be bare booted above the falls now, but there's been so much new snow in the past week that it's still not very compressed.
Description: I got a late start and, going solo, found the conditions above the falls to be fairly slow. I only got to the Middle Sister trail junction, then turned around. There are some tracks above that going to Piper junction and presumably summit, but you will definitely want snowshoes at that point.
