The Champney Falls Trail was mostly well-packed snow to the falls. The loop up the falls and back to the main trail had not been used, so it was a little tricky to find the steps. But the six of us left some tracks to make it easier for the next group. The Middle Sister Cut-off Trail had not been broken so we put on snowshoes and blazed a path. That was harder going, but beautiful. The short trip up to Middle Sister was a combination of bare rock and drifted snow.

Most of us used stabilizers for the majority of the trip. Snowshoes were helpful on the Middle Sister cutoff and Middle Sister Trail. Poles were also helpful.
